My relationship with Sachin and Kadam Films has grown
from a documentary films Journalist to a fiction
Director. Sachin and I worked on my first ZDF Indian
documentary way back in 1997, "River of Sorrow River
of Joy" which explored the Ganges river right from its
source at Gaumukh 13,000 feet in the Himalayas down
The Sundarbans in the Bayof Bengal. Thereafter we have
worked on several other ZDF projects each of which was
completed to more than my satisfaction.
The last two films in 2007-2008 were extremely
challenging period films involving re-enactments with
actors, art, sets, costumes, casting, stunts etc. and
Kadam Films rose to the challenge. "The Return of the
Great Flood" is a film set 25 years in the future and
raises concerns about global warming while "Journey
through a Forbidden Land", brought to life Henrich
Harrer's travels through Tibet in the 1940s. After
completing these last two films, I am more than
convinced that Kadam Films team's understanding of the
film-making process is at par with the best at
international levels.
I can completely trust myself with Sachin and his team
even in the worst of situations and I also know him to
be a warm and caring person. Looking forward to our
next film together!
